Well it premiered (sp?) on Toonami last night at 9 and had an encore at 10. What did all of you think? I'm thinking that maybe the edits won't be that bad. They have it rated TV PG and when that one guy got stabbed in the leg and the back, they showed him bleeding from both wounds. Then again, only time can tell. They'll probably completely ruin it at one point. There has to be at least one scene that they can't show at all, even with editing.

It's a shame they showed the worst episode ever made though...

Yeah I agree with you. I'm just hoping that the way Cartoon Network handled it will stick, and that the show doesn't go through any MAJOR edits. Oh, anyone know what episode number Gaara first appears? So far hes my favorite character in the manga I've read and I want to see his anime debut.

Thanks. So, assuming that they continue doing 2 new episodes a week with no repeats in between then in about 10 weeks from now he'll appear. YAY!

The 2 new episodes last night was probably just a premiere thing, there might just be one episode per week.
Anyway, it wasn't bad at all. The nosebleeds are edited out...but everything else was fine. I liked it.

It was quite good so far. Naruto's voice was a bit icky but that was expected. I recognize it from somewhere but I can't place it... Sakura's voice was the same as a girl from Digimon. =o

Maybe, then again One Piece always had 2 new eps the entire time it was on.

Yes, but One Piece is also already on 4Kids and it's like 40 episodes or something ahead.
it was alright though i really got use to the voices from the original. They did do some blood edits like when he did the sexy nujitsu...-(thinking hard)dont remember how its spelled-and there noses didnt bleed. anyone know what episode there workin on in japan its around the 150s isnt it?
The edits were fine when it came to blood and violence. But the voices chosen for the characters were horrible. I couldn't watch it seriously.

Everything was inferior to the original version... but yes, they could have done a lot worse, so they did a good job I suppose.

Yea I know. When its come to anime the original version is always better but they at least did it justce and I can learn to cope. But just think of how bad things would be had 4Kids gotten a hold of it. Viz is doing the best they can. I'm just gonna have to deal with it cuz I'm broke and can't buy DVDs or pay for episodes. If anyone can give me a good free download site that won't take 3 hours to download one episode I'd be very greatful.

It was better then I thought:
-Editing and censorship: 10/10 basically nonexistent and when it was applied, irrelevant to the plot.
-Voice Acting: 7/10, it may be because I am not used to hearing English voices in the series, but Iruka's voice is bad and Shikamaru's feels out of character. Mizuki had a good voice once he went into "Evil" mood and Ebisu's is superior to the original. But the rest are bleh..
-Accuracy to the original: 9/10, plot wise it is essentially 100% accurate so far. "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu" means "Shadow Clone Technique" so you can't criticize the dub (a TRANSLATION) for changing it to that. The only draw back is that they edited out the intro and closing (I liked Wind) though they are very likely to include these in the DVD's, which satisfies me.
All in all, better then I thought it would be. Viz is off to a good start.

Sorry to disappoint you Sickness but, that was just for the premiere, I was hoping it would be two a week as well :(. I wouldnt know how it ranks to the original since this is the first time I see it but, I liked it nonetheless.
